big feelings.
my dream is to continue to merge my original career of film criticism and my degree in cinema studies with my new(er) masters degree and career in psychotherapy.
therapeutic consulting started as a favor to friends who are writers, actors and directors and has looked different depending on their needs. i've met with writers rooms, read scripts and coached actors on accurate representation of queer and trans people, mental health struggles and how to talk to kids about things like depression, anxiety and loss. i've appreciated that creators have been dedicated to getting this stuff right and being involved in these projects has been the highlight of my career.

what can i offer?
concept, script or on set consultation on an lgbtq character and/or a queer or trans storyline
concept, script or on set consultation on representations of neurodivergence
concept, script or on set consultation on how to represent and/or talk to young people about mental illness, grief, empathy and/or feelings in general
concept, script or on set consultation on how to represent mental illness, including but not limited to things like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, etc.
on set therapeutic support for storylines that might be triggering (ie - somatic work, boundaries, communication support, therapeutic processing, etc)

how does it work?
i can come on board at any point in the creative process. i’ve been brought into writers rooms on TV shows to talk through storylines and character development. i’ve read film scripts and specs already in development and advised on adjustments. i’ve also come in later to the process, joining actors on set to process feelings around representation of things like assault, mental illness and neurodivergence.

trauma-informed care.
throughout the conversations i have daily with young people, i'm reminded how important representation is for, well, everyone, including lgqbtqia+ folx. the stories they watch come up in our conversations constantly and i see the way the characters and stories told on screen impact them, as they have always done for me as well.
